Do
you have a new habit you are trying to form? The
key to creating a new habit is to stick with it.
Practice your new habit every chance you get. Don't
be discouraged if you don't see immediate results.
New habits take approximately three to four weeks
to get established. If you can maintain your new
behavior for at least this long, it will become
part of your routine. Remember, you created the
old habits - you can create the new ones, too!
If you need additional support, read books or listen
to audiotapes related to the subject you want to
change. Hearing how other people have successfully
accomplished this goal can be helpful. Also, look
to your own past successes. Think about times in
the past when you successfully stopped a bad habit
or started a good one. How did you do it? What methods
worked for you? Finally, and most importantly -
if you do happen to fall back into the old routines,
forgive yourself and try again.
