“You’ve
got to start somewhere.” This phrase is an
interesting one to take with us into the week.
If we look at it more closely we can see that “start”
is the action portion of the phrase—that is,
getting started on whatever goal, dream or vision
that you hold is the key to achieving it. Of course,
we all take this to be true, but may be held back
by fear from getting started. Action, fortunately,
can overcome fear. By taking even the smallest first
step toward your goal, like making an appointment
with the bank to apply for a small business loan
needed to grow your business, you release yourself
from fear’s limiting power and allow yourself
to make even bigger steps in the future. Once you
act and are able to look back at what was done you
see that what was feared wasn’t so “scary”
after all.
The second and equally important portion of the
phrase is “somewhere”. Somewhere really
means wherever you are at the moment of action—be
that low or high. The crucial thing for us to understand
and accept/embrace about this concept is that wherever
we are when we begin is OK! It is the getting started
from that place that is the key to the successful
attainment of our goals, whatever they may be.
So go ahead and get started…wherever you are,
because if you don't dare to begin, you don't stand
a chance of getting there! Blessings!
