Are You Still On the Right Path?

By: Leadership Coach K. Denise Bane, Ph.D.

If you have set goals for yourself and if you have implementing an action plan, you are probably making great strides along the path of goal accomplishment. Periodically, it is important to ask yourself, “Am I still on the right path?” Create time throughout the year to evaluate your plan and your goals. Review your plan weekly, monthly, and yearly to revisit your goals.

Is this still the life you want to work toward? Have your ideals, values, desires, and/or needs changed? If so, don't despair, just identify your new goals, create a new action plan, and begin again. Benjamin Franklin said, “When you're finished changing, you're finished.” We all change - for such is the nature of life. And so we begin…again…and again. Take time this month to re-evaluate your personal and professional goals.
