BLACKNJ QUOTABLES (QUOTE OF THE WEEK)

"Difficult and painful as it is, we must walk on in the days ahead with an audacious faith in the future. When our days become dreary with low-hovering clouds of despair, and when our nights become darker than a thousand midnights, let us remember that there is a creative force in this universe, working to pull down the gigantic mountains of evil, a power that is able to make a way out of no way and transform dark yesterdays into bright tomorrows. Let us realize the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice."

— Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

  In Celebration of Your Dreams

I am inspired to write this week's article in celebration of dreams…dreams that are alive, dreams that are brewing, dreams that are a cause for the upward mobility for the spirit of man:

A mother's dream for her children to be safe, free from harm and fear. A father's dream to be a role model to his children despite how challenging his life may be. A college student's dream of earning his/her degree, despite financial hardships. A business owners dream to not give up, rather, to stay the course and see the vision through. A person who survived a life-threatening disease because she never gave up hope, rather she believed that there was more to live for. A child's dream to be a hero one day for his community for the world to benefit from. A person's dream as she sits at her desk every day desiring more out of life and no matter what the circumstance, she will not give up. I celebrate all of you today. In the great spirit of Dr. Martin Luther King, I celebrate you and the power of your dreams.

As we all know, Dr. Martin Luther King had a dream. He had the conviction and the clarity of the words he used to utter what he desired for a better life for you and I. There have been many victories and some may say defeats since that time. We can look to our lives, to the world, and see there is a great need to hold onto our dreams for better days ahead. We must dream. We must continue to dream. For it is the mental ability to see what you want, and the ability to allow your mind to escape the physical trappings of the world that assists in the evolution of mankind. Dreams, they are so full of positive energy and well wishes. Dreamers that have a great ability to catch the spirit of other souls who are aligned with the same sentiments, just as our great brother Dr. Martin did.

This week, I celebrate you, the life that we are blessed to have each day, the ability to dream, the gift of imagination and the desire to be courageous and take action.

Dream on! Someone dreamed for you and I, and we are here alive with the ability to thrive as a result. I am here standing in celebration of those who have come before us and laid a path with directions on how to get to your mountaintop of life. I am not giving up on the passion and the power that becomes of those who dare to dream. Join me, as your life success coach, and be daring this week. Keep on dreaming no matter what!

Ways to keep your dreams alive:

  1. Celebrate your life. You are living and breathing. Many, right at this moment, did not make it, and you have. That means there are still great things stirring around in your soul to bring to light.

  2. Celebrate a loved one. After reading this article, pick up the phone and call someone who has been a gift to your life. Remember, everything in life happens in a moment. Let this moment count.

  3. Celebrate your ability to dream. If you still dream, you are more than hopeful, you are able. You have the resources, the ability and the inner desire to see past any moment. It is seeing past the moment that is the first step to moving past the moment.

I celebrate you and the power of dreams.
