NEWS STORIES
When is the news updated?
News is updated as it happens in 12 cities across the canada.com network by editors working in CanWest Interactive newsrooms. The newswire is updated through the day and evening by Canadian Press. Newspaper stories are updated once daily.
Why aren't cities from all the provinces and territories included in the "Pick a City" section?
The canada.com web site is associated with CanWest Publications Inc., a CanWest company which owns newspapers in every Canadian province - except New Brunswick and Manitoba or any of the territories. It also owns the National Post.
The stories found in the Pick a City section are from CanWest Publications Inc. as well as from newspapers belonging to associated Canadian newspaper groups. Due to many considerations, including copyright, we are unable to include stories from all Canadian newspapers.
Is there an archive of old news stories?
Yes. To access it, click on the "super search" link on the canada.com homepage. Then click on the "News Finder" found on the left-hand side of the page. Simply fill in your search criteria here and click "search." From our 12 main city sites, you can visit the newspaper section and click on the Archives link in the left-hand margin and search stories that appeared in the newspaper over the past 14 days.
